On Saturday 15 August, we travelled to Armadale for an East of Scotland Qualifying Cup second round tie.
In the first encounter between the sides in nine years, Luke Kennedy put us ahead after 30 minutes before an excellent strike from Grant Rose doubled our advantage three minutes later. Tom Davies, a half time substitute, netted his fifth goal of the season and his first from open play after 57 minutes, rounding the home goalkeeper to fire in our third.
It was, said manager Scott Bonar afterwards, an “outstanding effort” in which his side showed “real maturity”.
He added: “We managed the game extremely well, both in and out of possession, and showed that we are becoming a squad capable of adapting to different challenges and formations. For me, that is a really important step in our development.”
