We are looking to shrug off the disappointment of Saturday’s Premier Division defeat at the hands of Hill of Beath Hawthorn – a match in which we played well but couldn’t find the breakthrough – when we return to cup action this weekend. Our reward for last month’s memorable victory over Dunbar United is a home South Challenge Cup tie against Knightswood of the West Of Scotland Third Division. The squad resumed training on Tuesday evening with a further session planned for Thursday prior to Saturday’s match, as manager Scott Bonar finalises his preparations for what should be an intriguing tie.
It’s our first appearance in the Third Round of the competition and we’ll need to be at our best. Knightswood caused a bit of an upset by knocking out Gala Fairydean Rovers from the Lowland League four tiers above them by two goals to one in the last round. We look forward to hosting them on Saturday. The match kicks off at 2.30pm.
