Haddington Athletic welcome Camelon Juniors to Millfield on Saturday, 24 January for our 20th Premier Division match of the season.

Saturday’s visitors have made a very good start to life in the Premier Division, The two clubs met each other in league action at Carmuirs Park on 18 October. There were few clearcut chances at either end in an evenly matched opening 45 minutes, with Haddington then stepping up a gear in the second half. An outstanding finish from substitute Robbie Peffers on 69 minutes, from a tight angle to the right of goal, saw the ball lift over the goalkeeper and into the net, with Ryan Quinn’s aerial excellence providing good setup play. We doubled our lead following a fantastic sequence of play on 76 minutes, with Gary Windram playing in the ball from the left for Seamus Russell to finish perfectly coming in at the back post. It was enough to seal a thoroughly deserved win for the Hi Hi’s with Camelon dropping their first points since promotion in the process.

Camelon have enjoyed a very impressive Scottish Cup run this season. Having defeated League Two Edinburgh City in the third round, they faced Elgin City in the fourth round last Saturday. Despite a valiant effort, they eventually lost 3-1 to the League Two side.
