After a first round bye and narrowly overcoming Dunbar United and Knightswood in the previous two rounds, Haddington Athletic have been drawn at home to Glasgow United at Millfield in the fourth round of the South Challenge Cup. The match will be played on Saturday 15 November.
Until 2021 our next cup opponents, formed in 1903, were known as Shettleston Juniors. They currently play in the Third Division of the West Of Scotland League, and reached this stage after an excellent 2-1 away win against Drumchapel United last Saturday – Drumchapel play three tiers above them in the West.
Given recent experiences against Kilsyth Athletic and Knightswood, we know very well indeed we’ll face a stern test to progress to the last 16 – Knightswood sit above United only on goal difference in the current league table. We’ll look forward very much to having another first-time opponent visit us in four weeks’ time.
