Unfortunately, Haddington Athletic were defeated for the first time since mid-April on Saturday 29 August, with Newtongrange Star running out 2-1 winners in a Premier Division fixture at Millfield.
The visitors took the lead on 57 minutes before doubling their advantage on 70 minutes. Ethan Williams raised hopes of a Hi Hi’s comeback after netting from the penalty spot five minutes later, but a late rally ultimately was not quite enough.
After a 2-0 midweek friendly victory over Whitehill Welfare at Millfield, attention now turns to Saturday’s trip to Lanark United for a Challenge Cup 2nd round tie. The match has a 2pm kick off.
