Haddington made the short trip to Ormiston last Saturday to play the local side in the first round of the Alex Jack Cup. The match was marred in the closing minutes by a serious injury to Haddington striker Declan Quinn. Quinn had taken over in goal in the closing minutes after Goalkeeper Inglis had been sent off. The player had to remian on the pitch after the match and was eventually taken to hospital by ambulance. A dislocated hip and torn muscles is likely to keep him out of action for some time. For the record this was a comfortable win for the Hi Hi’s and it should have been more. Goals from Brown, Moffat and Quinn put them ahead with Ormiston’s consolation came in time added on. Paul Devlin also picked up two yellow cards and both he and Ingils will miss Wednesdays’ opening league match against Dalkeith at Millfield.
