The Hi Hi’s visited Albyn Park, Broxburn for their last away league game of the season, their first visit there since season 2008/09. The visitors were hoping to avenge an unlucky 2 -1 midweek defeat earlier in the season and manager Scott Bonar fielded a young side with two sixteen year olds in the starting line up. There wasn’t much between the sides in the opening period but the deadlock was broken just on the half hour mark when Guy McGarry profited from a mistake just inside the home half and he strode through to beat Blair with a composed finish – a goal reminiscent of his famous goal at Brechin in the Scottish Cup. Not long after it was two when the home ‘keeper failed to hold a shot from Joe Tait and Thomas scored from close range.

Haddington started the second half in a confident mood and two goals in the opening twenty minutes saw them double their lead. The third goal arrived when Guy McGarry hit the post with a twenty yard free kick, and young Robbie Peffers was first to react and dispatched the loose ball into the net. Soon after some determined wing play from Joe Tait saw him reach the bye line and deliver the perfect cross for Peffers to net from close range. Broxburn pulled a goal back in the 68th minute but that was to be the last of the scoring and the Hi Hi’s enjoyed a comfortable win.
