Conditions were far from ideal, when the under 20s met Cove Rangers in the fourth round of the Scottish Youth Cup at Whittingehame Drive last Friday. A gale force wind made conditions difficult for both sides but to their credit, both teams tried to play football. There was little in it for most of a windy ninety minutes, but Cove scored the all important goal on the 51st minute when a one of their forwards broke through and beat McLean with a good finish. Haddington tried hard to get the equaliser and sent full back McGarry further forward in an attempt to do so. He came closest towards the end when his free kick brought out a fine save from the Cove goalkeeper. This has been a great experience for Willie Sives and his young side and they now turn their attention to climbing the league.
