Millfield should house another big crowd on Saturday when the Hi Hi’s conclude their League Cup sectional matches with an East Lothian derby which sees former Haddington manager Joe Hamill return with his Musselburgh Athletic side. Although Heriot Watt top the section with eight points, the students have completed their fixtures, and will be overtaken by either Haddington or Musselburgh, who are both on seven points with better goal differences. Musselburgh have the best goal difference and a draw will be sufficient to allow them to top the group and automatically qualify for the last 16. The best four runners up also qualify so whoever ends up in second place could still feature in the knock out stages. No doubt Millfield manager Scott Bonar would like to win this one but his sights are firmly set on gaining promotion and this may be reflected in his starting line up. The Hi Hi’s also have two midweek quarter final ties to play in the next two weeks which will test their resources. The first of these quarter finals will be played next Tuesday, 5th April, when they travel to West Lothian to meet Conference X form side Bo’ness Athletic in the last eight of the King Cup. There could be a rematch in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup quarter final at Millfield on Wednesday, 13th April, if Bo’ness win at Kinnoull on 9th April.
