Having made a winning start at home to their new East of Scotland Premier League campaign, the Hi Hi’s face a couple of tricky away matches over the next week. First up is a visit to Ainslie Park on Saturday (Kick Off 3.00pm) to meet Hutchison Vale, who turned out to be a bit of a surprise packet in last season’s campaign finishing in fifth place. A Joe Tait goal was all that separated the sides in an early season encounter in Edinburgh, but the Capital side exacted revenge at Millfield in February when they won by two goals to nil, The Vale opened their league campaign at Dunbar last week with former Hi Hi Ricky Miller scoring in the 1-1 draw.

Then next Tuesday, 6th August, Haddington travel to meet Penicuik Athletic at Penicuik Park where they will come up against former goalkeeper Dale Cornet, who moved during the summer, as he sought a club closer to his Loanhead home. Last season was a bit disappointing for the Midlothian side but after going through a number of managers they now appear to have some stability and started their season with a two goal victory over Dundonald Bluebell in Fife. This was one that got away from Haddington last season and they will be keen to end a long winless run at Penicuik.
