The Hi Hi’s make their third successive trip to Fife on Saturday, this time on League Cup duty when they meet Lochore Welfare at Central Park, Crosshill. It’s over 50 years since they played a competiitve game at this venue and they can expect a difficult cup tie. Lochore are fighting relegation in Division 1 and last Saturday they went down 5 1 at Dunipace. However they bounced back with an impressive cup win at Division 2 leaders Whitburn in midweek, and Haddington manager Scott Bonar will be fully aware that they recently beat Division 1 leaders Dunbar United in this competition. The Hi Hi’s have beaten both Craigroyston and Lothian Thistle in earlier rounds and will have their eye on a quarter final place, but so will the Fifers as they line up another cup shock. The Central Park pitch isn’t expected to be any better than pitches that Haddington encountered at both Hill of Beath and Crossgates, so tactics will have to be set accordingly.

This is Haddington’s last cup competition of the season and they will be keen to progress.
