Although the King Cup is only competed for by clubs in the three Conferences, Haddington have had some tough ties in this seasons competition and Saturday will be no exception. The Hi Hi’s entertain current Conference B leaders Oakley United at Millfield with a place in the quarter finals at stake. Oakley are in fine form at the moment and beat previous leaders Glenrothes a couple of weeks ago, and last Saturday they scored a late winner at Pennypit Park to edge Conference B favourites, Preston Athletic, by two goals to one. So confidence will be high in the Fife camp and a good game is in prospect.

Haddington started the competition away back in July when they won a penalty shoot out at Easthouses after both sides shared four goals. They had to wait until December to play their next tie which was against Glenrothes at Millfield, when a late Ross King goal took the tie into extra time where goals from Auriemma and McGarry saw the Hi Hi’s win a cracking cup tie by four goals to two. Manager Scott Bonar will be without Corey Robertson, Euan Watson and Allessan Jones but everyone else is available. An away tie to the winners of Fauldhouse United and Bo’ness Athletic awaits the winners in the last eight.
