Weather permitting, the Hi Hi’s will have three consecutive home league matches at Millfield over the next three Saturdays. First up is Penicuik Athletic followed by Vale of Leithen and Lothian Thistle HV. The last Saturday in February sees the Millfield side make the short trip to Edinburgh to meet Tynecastle at Meggetland.
Penicuik, who were just pipped by Tranent for the Premier Division championship last season, will provide a stiff test for manager Scott Bonar and his players. The Midlothian side just had the edge when the sides met at Penicuik earlier in the season and a goal on the stroke of half time was enough to give the home team all three points. Under the guidance of former Haddington boss Stevie McLeish, Penicuik have established themselves in this league and they are usually found in the top positions. They have an experienced side and the Hi Hi’s will have to be at their best if they are to take anything from the game. Once again manager Bonnar will be without several key players and this seems to have been the story of the season so far. However the home support can play their part in encouraging their team to what would be a league upset.
