There was a big crowd at Millfield last Wednesday and they saw league leaders Musselburgh Athletic make an explosive start in their top of the league clash. Former Hi Hi Jackie Myles put Burgh ahead in the third minute when his low 20 yard shot found the net. Worse was to come when McDonald doubled the visitors lead in the 13th minute with the home side appealing for offside in vain. Both sides had chances in an open game with Scott Moffat coming closest when he hit the bar in the closing stages but the visitors took all three points.

A depleted Haddington squad made the long trip to face bottom side Kirriemuir Thistle at Westview Park last Saturday. The Hi Hi’s were without no fewer than eight players and a couple of trialists were drafted into the squad. The home side took a deserved lead early on but Haddington finished the half ahead after goals from Fraser Patterson and top scorer Scott Moffat – both well taken headers. Second half goals from George Cunningham and Andy Jones gave the Hi Hi’s all three points.

The Millfield side face two tough away matches this week starting with a trip to Fauldhouse United  on Wednesday and on Saturday they make the shorter trip to Tranent for their last derby clash of the season.
