A frozen pitch put paid to last Saturday’s Conference A match against Dalkeith Thistle at Kings Park. The match had survived a Covid scare in the Dalkeith camp only to fall to a severe frost on Friday night. Haddington hope to be back in action following the Christmas celebrations when they entertain neighbours Ormiston Primrose in a Conference A match at Millfield on Thursday 30th December. The match kicks off at 7.30pm and it will be the first midweek floodlit match at Millfield on front of paying spectators. Things of course are very fluid at the moment with restrictions changing almost daily as the Omicron variant spreads across the country. Please continue to check the club’s social media accounts for up to date information on the match and any protocols that have to be observed such as mask wearing on entry and social distancing within the ground.

Since the return of spectators in June the club has been delighted with the attendances at Millfeld and the vocal encouragement has been superb. We fully expect our average league attendance to be around the 200 mark with our average attendance higher than that. The highlight of the season to date has to be our exploits in the Scottish Cup. Few will forget that dramatic penalty shoot out win at Millfield against Deveronvale in September when over 500 supporters witnessed a famous win. A few weeks later we took our biggest support in around 50 years, to Brechin where we were unfortunate to lose out to a late own goal. Scott, Ryan and the players are determined to give you many more memorable moments as we start 2022 very much to the fore in the race to reach the Premier Division. With your continued support the club will try to make Season 21/22 one to remember.

We would like to wish all our supporters, young and old, a Happy Christmas and a Guid New Year. We’re sure that our younger players in our buoyant Youth Section can’t wait for Christmas Day to arrive!

Come on the Hi Hi’s!
