The Hi Hi’s start their third Scottish Cup campaign on Saturday when West of Scotland champions, Darvel, visit Millfield in the Preliminary Round, with the match kicking off at 3.00pm. the two previous campaigns have been memorable with victories over Lowland Leagure BSC Glasgow in 2020 and last year Highland League side Deveronvale were beaten on penalties at Millfield after a draw in the first game in Banff. The Hi Hi’s then went out to a late own goal at Brechin having led at the interval. Tomorrows opponents, Darvel, will start as firm favourites and the Ayrshire side have shown excellent early season form with successive victories over Auchinleck, Kilwinning and Hurlford – an impressive trio of scalps.

Injuries have plagued Haddington since the start of the season and manager Scott Bonar will be without Cammy Watson, Dale O’Hara, Zach Szemis, Euan Watson and Guy McGarry, all of whom would stake a claim for a place in the starting line up. Haddington backed by a large support will be hoping to create another cup upset but Darvel will start as strong favourites.
