History will be made at Millfield on Saturday when the Hi Hi’s play their first Scottish Cup tie at home with spectators present. Haddington entertained Formartine United at this stage of the competition last year, but no spectators were permitted under the restrictions in place at the time.

Deveronvale’s late equaliser at Banff last Saturday forced a replay and the Highland League side, two tiers above Haddington, will again start as favourites and will be hoping to make the most of their late escape.

The draw for the second round was made last Sunday and the winners of the replay will travel to meet Brechin City, recently relegated from the SPFL into the Highland League. A tough tie but one that both clubs will relish.

Haddington are expecting a bumper crowd at Millfield on Saturday in a match that kicks off at 3.00pm. The match will be decided by penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes. The Hi Hi’s will be giving everything to strech their unbeaten start to the season to 14 matches having broken the club record last Saturday. Once again kids from Haddington Athletic Youth Section will be there to entertain the crowd pre match and half time and will lend their voices to the home support. There’s also a rumour that the young Hi Hi’s Ultras have replaced their megaphone with a drum. Come along and be part of history!
