Despite freezing temperatures, frequent snow showers and a strong east wind, the players of Haddington and Thornton Hibs did their best to entertain Millfield’s smallest crowd this season. It was only the hard core Millfield faithful who braved the elements to watch this one. The spectators had to wait 76 minutes for a goal and Andy Jones put the home side ahead with a trademark solo effort. It looked as though this goal would give the Hi Hi’s three valuable points but some slipshod defending two minutes from the end saw Thomson level for Hibs with a close range finish. A blow for Haddington’s promotion hopes but both sides deserved something for turning out in these conditions.
