The Hi Hi’s played their first pre -season match at Millfield last Saturday with Arniston Rangers providing the oppostion. Manager Joe Hamill fielded a number of his new signings but lost one to injury within five minutes when Shaun Conlon was forced to hobble off with an ankle injury. The home side held the upper hand but it took until the 36th minute for them to move ahead. Another new signing, Ryan Hutchison, took full advantage of indecision in the visitors defence. George Cunningham extended the lead in the opening minutes of the second half when he beat Arniston ‘keeper Easton with an audacious free kick from just inside his own half. Substitute Declan Quinn netted from close range after good play from full back Gordon Harris. Arniston claimed a consolation when they profited from a defensive error in the 78th minute.
