A good crowd turned up at Millfield last night to see a strong Hearts side breeze past the Hi Hi’s in a match staged as part of the Haddington 700 celebrations. Hearts included Harry Cochrane and Anthony McDonald and watching manager Craig Levein must have been impressed with several other youngsters, a number of whom, who already have first team experience. It was mainly one way traffic with Hearts turning on the style. It was one apiece midway through the first half with both sides also hitting woodwork. But four goals in a devastating sixteen minute spell saw the visitors five one up at the break. Hearts added two more in a more even second half in which home goalkeeper Craig Cockburn pulled off some good saves. Haddington were outclassed but to their credit they never gave up and kept trying to play football.
