Haddington completed their three successive trips to Fife unbeaten when they won in the League Cup at Lochore last Saturday. This was their first competitive visit to Central Park, Crosshill, home of Lochore Welfare, in over 50 years. Manager Scott Bonar was able to field a strong side and the Premier Division side just had too much for their First Division opponents. An early goal from Seamus Russell put the Hi Hi’s ahead and good play from Dylan Tait set up Guy McGarry for a second just short of the half hour mark. Lochore never gave up and they pulled one back before Nick Aitchieson headed in a third, to restore the Hi Hi’s two goal advantage at the break. The difficult surface made good football very difficult but substitute Joe Tait found the net with a spectacular finish in the closing minutes to round off a good afternoon for the Hi Hi’s who eagerly await the quarter final draw. The on loan Spartans striker was delighted to get his first Haddington goal.
