The Hi Hi’s travelled to Meggetland to meet Tynecastle in a Conference B game last Saturday. Manager Joe Hamill and his players knew that only a win would be good enough to keep any hopes of a top five finish alive. A tight match was envisaged but Haddington found their shooting boots and a leaky defence tightened up. The visitors knocked the ball about with confidence and an early goal from Jones set them on their way. Jones added another before a Grant Rose double saw the Hi Hi’s lead 4 0 at the interval.
Two well taken goals from Rose took the tally to six. Manager Hamill used all three substitutes and two of them combined for the next goal with Hamish Law grabbing his first Haddington goal. Cropley added number eight before Law scored another. Tynecastle scored a late consolation.
