The efforts of the Hi Hi’s first team committee were rewarded in Glasgow today when their application for an Entry Level Licence was considered by the SFA’s Licensing committee. The committee confirmed that the club met all Entry Level criteria and that their application has been referred to the main SFA Board who will consider it when they meet on April 9th. The application went to the wire as the club were only able to provide ‘evidence of a working floodlit system’ last night when the new floodlights were switched on at Millfield for the first time! Videos and photos were emailed to the SFA late last night. It was the late inclusion of floodlights that scuppered the club’s application last year. With planning permission only granted in early December, the club and their contractors JBEMS, have pulled out all the stops to install the new floodlight system. If the Hi Hi’s had failed to meet this tight deadline, then, under the new SFA process, they would have had to wait until next year. This is the culmination of a number of initiatives as well as major ground improvements at Millfield. The award of a licence would see the Hi Hi’s participate in next season’s Scottish Cup.
