After a series of odd goal league defeats, the Hi Hi’s turn their attention to cup football this weekend when they travel to Fife to meet Dundonald Bluebell in the third round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup. Having suffered disappointing defeats in both the Scottish Cup and the South Challenge Cup, Haddington will be keen to extend their stay in this competition. A further incentive for victory is a potential home match against county rivals Dunbar United if the Seasiders overcome Armadale Thistle in their third round tie.

Moorside Park is never an easy destination and although Haddington won there last season, Dundonald gained revenge at Millfield in March. Injuries to several key players has hampered manager Scott Bonar’s recent selections and he is unlikely to be able to make many changes on Saturday. Haddington reached this stage by beating Lowland League side Civil Service Strollers at Christie Gillies Park in the second round and they will be hoping for a repeat of this form.
