The Hi Hi’s will contest their last cup competition of the season on Saturday, when they travel to Fife to meet Oakley United in the first round of the East of Scotland League Cup. Two seasons ago Haddington were knocked out at the semi final stage and last season they went one better, reaching the final only to lose to Sauchie in extra time at Denny. No doubt manager Scott Bonar and his players will want to go one better this season and they will be firm favourites to reach the second round against a side two divisions below them. However as they found out at Glenrothes recently, there are no easy games north of the Forth, and earlier this season they lost a cup tie to Kilsyth Athletic, a side at the same level as Oakley. So Scott Bonar will have his players properly prepared for a potentially tough ninety minutes. Youngsters Aaron Ewins, Wilson Ngomo and Brandyn Neil. all made a difference when they came on last Saturday and all three are pushing for a place in the starting line up.
