Haddington’s second Premier Division match was at Millfield last Tuesday against Tynecastle, when a crowd of 200 turned up, most expecting a home win. Hopes were high that the Hi Hi’s would follow up their impressive opening day win over Crossgates with another victory. However Tynecastle’s opening day 5-1 win over Hill of Beath should have been a warning to the home side. The Edinburgh side looked an impressive outfit and had the edge in the opening half. Haddington conceded  two avoidable goals and few could grudge the visitors their half time lead. The second half was mainly played out in the Tynecastle half but Haddington failed to create any real openings and the visitors held on to their first half lead to take all three points. Many thought that this seasons Premier Division would be a tough league and the first two rounds of matches would appear to be back this up.
