Haddington make the short trip to Prestonpans on Tuesday evening when they meet county rivals Preston Athletic in a friendly match which has a 7.30pm kick off. Division 1 Preston have looked good in their friendly outings and last Saturday they met one of the top West of Scotland sides, Darvel Juniors, at the Pennypit. Although eventually losing 2-0, Preston gave their more fancied opponents a competitive 90 minutes.
Manager Scott Bonar knows that Preston will want to claim the bragging rights and he is expected to field a strong side for what should be an entertaining 90 minutes.
The following evening the Hi Hi’s Under 20s side will be in action at Millfield when they entertain their counterparts from Newtongrange Star. A few of the boys featured against Coldstream last week and it will be interesting to see how manager Scott Martin’s side is shaping up for the new season. This match kicks off at 7.30pm.
Finally the first team is back in action at Millfield on Saturday 22nd July when they play their final warm up match against West of Scotland Division 1 club, Drumchapel United. Drumchapel are a fairly new club at this level but they enjoyed a good run in the Scottish Cup last season before exiting the competition against SPFL side Elgin City. This should be another good match on the Millfield ‘bowling green’ and spectators should note that the match kicks off at 2.30pm.
