Despite falling behind early on, Haddington dominated most of their Conference A match against Arniston Rangers at Gorebridge last Saturday. The Gorebridge pitch passed a morning inspection and it was the home side who moved into an early lead after goalkeeper Cornet failed to hold onto a high ball. The visitors dominated and came close on several occasions before Guy McGarry set up Ryan Hutchison for the equaliser. Minutes later a fine run by Gabri Auriemma ended with Ano Subasic scoring from close range. it was one way traffic but there were no more goals before the break. The second half was only a minute old when Auriemma opened his account for the season when he turned in a cross from the hard working Ross King.
Little was seen of Arniston as an attacking force and only the crossbar saved them from going further ahead when McGarry came close from a free kick. The visitors continued to push forward and goals from a trialist and Auriemma completed the scoring. The Hi Hi’s entertain newcomers, Edinburgh South at Millfield this Saturday – once again behind closed doors.
