The Hi Hi’s are on the road again tomorrow when they meet Sauchie Juniors at Beechwood Park. The Clackmannanshire side are always difficult opponents and some felt that they would be contending for the Premier Division title. However their challenge was derailed early in the season when they were deducted 15 points for playing an ineligible player. Not that long ago their long serving manager Fraser Duncan resigned, and on the back of this, several players have left the club for pastures new.

Despite all of this, sometimes teams can show fight in the face of adversity and manager Scott Bonar and his players will know that they will face a fired up Sauchie side tomorrow. They will be determined to make up for their shock home defeat at the hands of Edinburgh University last week and they will be aware that their points deduction has left them on the fringes of the relegation area.

Manager Scott Bonar received a boost this week with key midfield man Seamus Russell returning to light training following an injury sustained against Spartans a few weeks ago. His midfield teammate Ali Simpson has been sidelined again following a brief return to the side and his ball winning skills have also been missed. Luke Kennedy is nursing a knee injury but it’s hoped that he will be fit to play. When the sides met at Millfield earlier in the season, Sauchie scored three second half goals to give them a 3-0 win which was later changed to a 1-0 win for the home side following the discovery of Sauchie’s misdemeanor.
