The Hi Hi’s extended their unbeaten run to six matches when they drew with Penicuik Athletic at Millfield last Saturday. Although disappointed not to get a win, the result against last seasons runners up, shows that Scott Bonar’s side are capable of matching most sides in what is a far tougher league than last seasons Conference A.
Once again Haddington made things tougher for themselves when they conceded a goal in the first five minutes. Penicuik’s first corner of the game saw Edwards beat Cornet with a well placed header. The Midlothian side were in the ascendancy for the first twenty minutes but gradually the Hi Hi’s played their way into the match. The equaliser came minutes into the second half when McGarry outstripped the Penicuik defence and his low cross found Gabri Auriemma who had the simple task of finding the net. The visitors were reduced to ten minutes later and the home side were well in control but could not find a second goal. Dylan Tait had the ball in the net only for the goal to be disallowed for a contentious offside decision.
