Haddington were back in action last Saturday after Home Park, Coldstream passed an early morning inspection. Manager Joe Hamill made three changes to the side that beat Stirling University on their last outing. Dale Cornet, Seamus Russell and new signing Michael Johnston were all in the starting line up. The Hi Hi’s had the better of the opening half and the home side had goalkeeper Turnbull to thank for the goalless scoreline at half time. The visitors broke the deadlock early in the second half, when Auriemma latched onto a kick out from Cornet and beat Turnbull with a low shot. This triggered the Streamers best spell of the match and they forced a number of corners and ‘keeper Cornet pulled off some important saves. Young Robbie King settled the Haddington nerves when his free kick from the right eluded everyone and ended up in the net. So a good three points for the Hi Hi’s and they face another border side tomorrow when Tweedmouth Rangers travel from Berwick to Millfield.
