On Saturday 5th May 1973 the Hi Hi’s upset the form book by beating Linlithgow Rose at Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh to lift the East of Scotland Cup. It only seemed appropriate that with Linlithgow visiting Millfield within days of the 50th anniversary,  the occasion should be recognised. Secretary Tom Thornton located the famous trophy in Dundee and ensured that it was on show at Millfield last Saturday. Also in attendance were five of the squad that played at Tynecastle on that memorable day.

The only goal of the final was scored by Haddington striker Colin Dickson and he was joined on the pitch at half time by Peter Dargo, Pat Glynn, Jimmy Little, and Mick Thorburn. Photos of the occasion are on the club’s Facebook page.
