The Hi Hi’s are at home again this Saturday, when they entertain St Andrews United in a Conference A match which was originally scheduled to be played in February. Beaten, but not disgraced by Lowland League side Spartans at Millfield, manager Scott Bonar and his players will be fully focussed on gaining three points as promotion is their main ambition this season. Having trailed Leith Athletic in the early part of the season, the Hi Hi’s have now leapfrogged their rivals with only three points separating them. Dunipace have also emerged from the pack in recent weeks and their visit to Millfield the following Saturday, 4th December, is viewed as a crucial match for both sides. However that game is in the future and the immediate aim is to collect three points on Saturday. St Andrews have not been enjoying a good season by their standards but neither were Thornton Hibs, and the Hi Hi’s had to dig deep to edge them out a few weeks ago. When the sides met in Fife back in August the Hi Hi’s ran out 3 – 0 winners with goals from Ali Simpson, Shaun Hill and Seamus Russell. It was a quiet Millfield crowd last Saturday but the players are determined to give them something to cheer about on Saturday.
