The Hi Hi’s are assured of a third successive top half finish to their East of Scotland Premier League campaign but they won’t know their final league position until after they meet in form Dundonald Bluebell in Fife on Saturday, in their last league match of the current season. Fourth place is probably beyond them following Dunipace’s win at Millfield but they could finish anywhere between fifth and eighth depending on Saturday’s result and results elsewhere.
When the sides met at Millfield back in November, a super second half performance, saw the home side turn a 2-2 interval scoreline into a 5-2 victory. Dundonald have been in good form in recent weeks and will be looking to gain revenge for that Millfield reversal. Hi Hi’s manager Scott Bonar has had to contend with injuries for most of the season and once again he will be without several key players. Midfield man Ali Simpson is awaiting a knee operation, Tom Davies also has a knee injury, Gary Windram has a shoulder injury and both strikers Grant Rose and Ryan Quinn are carrying knocks. It will again be a late selection and he may promote a couple of players from the Under 20 squad.
Both Davies and Windram are hoping to be fit for next weeks League Cup quarter final in Perth against Jeanfield Swifts but they certainly won’t be fit for this Saturday.
