With no Saturday fixture, manager Scott Bonar arranged to take his side to Rosewell on Tuesday to play First Division Whitehill Welfare in a friendly match. The Haddington manager took the opportunity to blood some promising players from the Hi Hi’s Under 20s side and Brandyn Neill, Alex McNaughton, Riley Haston, and Lucas Martin all featured at some point in the match and all did well. 20s skipper Robbie Peffers also played and was at the heart of a lot of good moves.

It was the home side that settled first but the visitors gradually played their way into the game but there were no goals in the opening forty five minutes. The Hi Hi’s broke the deadlock with two well taken goals from Guy McGarry early in the second half. The visitors dictated most of the play and were unfortunate not to score two or three more with the Welfare goalkeeper bringing off some good saves. All in all a good exercise for the Millfield side and also many positives from the performances of their young players.
