Last night, Tuesday. the Hi Hi’s met Division 2 promotion contenders, Dalkeith Thistle, in a friendly match at Millfield. Manager Scott Bonar took the opportunity to give some of his first team squad some match practice, as well as fielding some of the under 20s players and a couple of trialists. The more experienced visiting side settled quickly with former Millfield favourite Michael Fairnie in the Jags line up. Dalkeith took an early lead but this was cancelled out 25 minutes in when Dylan Tait with a well placed shot from 25 yards. The Hi Hi’s moved ahead four minutes before the break when Ben Wardlaw netted with a well placed shot. Seven minutes into the second half Ben Wardlaw was on target again when he latched onto a fine through ball and netted with an angled finish. Dalkeith pulled one back towards the end but Haddington ran out winners by the odd goal in five.

On Saturday the Hi Hi’s have another Millfield friendly match when Division 1 side, Rosyth, visit Millfield in a match that kicks off at 2.30pm. Manager Scott Bonar wants to keep his players in action before they travel to Innerleithen for an important Premier division match against Vale of Leithen on Saturday 3rd December.
