There is an attractive fixture at Millfield tomorrow when the Hi Hi’s entertain East Kilbride from the Lowland League in the last sixteen of the Football Nation Qualifying Cup. The Kilby, who play two tiers above Haddington, will start as firm favourites and are holders of this trophy. The match kicks off at the earlier time of 1.00pm to allow for the possibility of extra time and penalties. The match will be preceded by a minutes silence in respect of Malcolm Jones. Born and brought up in Haddington, Malcolm was a good friend of the club, and was, of course, secretary of Dunbar United where his son, Geoff, is the manager. Malcolm had strong sporting ties with the town. A classy player in a very good Haddington Rugby Club side and a good all rounder with Haddington Cricket Club. He was also a talented footballer. Everyone associated with the Hi Hi’s was shocked and saddened to hear the sad news from Fife last Saturday and send our sincere condolences to Malcolm’s family.
