When New Recreation Park was declared unplayable, Haddington’s Conference A match against Ormiston was switched to Millfield. The Hi Hi’s were strong favourites to take the points in the first league match between the sides for a number of years, and it looked as though that would be the case when goals from Guy McGarry and Cameron Watson saw the home side 2 0 up in 16 minutes. But Ormiston never gave up and some sloppy defending gave them a foothold in the match before the interval. King missed an early chance in the opening minutes of the second half but Ormiston, to their credit, took the game to the home side and Hogg hit a low shot past home ‘keeper Muir in the 57th minute to level the scores. Haddington forced a number of corners in an attempt to take all three points but there was more desperation than creativity in their efforts. If the Hi Hi’s are to take all three points when Stirling University visit Millfield on Saturday, then they will need to raise their level of performance.
