Haddington’s forthcoming Scottish Cup second round tie against Brechin City at Glebe Park, has certainly caught the imagination of the town and the Hi Hi’s expect to take their biggest away support in around 50 years when they travel north on Saturday. Back in 1971 five buses of supporters followed the team bus to Cambuslang for a Scottish Junior Cup fifth round match, and around 150 supporters are expected to be in Glebe Park on Saturday. No overnight stops this time but manager Scott Bonar’s preparation has been meticulous and he hopes to have a full strength squad at his disposal. It would be a major upset if the Hi Hi’s could pull this one off and the home side, playing in the SPFL Championship only a few years ago, will be strong favourites.
