The Hi Hi’s are becoming victims of their own success this season as they contest three cup competitions as well as challenging for the Conference A title. They have qualified for the quarter finals of both the King Cup and East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, and last Saturday they reached the last sixteen of the East of Scotland League Cup. Tomorrow evening, Tuesday 5th April, they travel to Newtown Park, Bo’ness to face Conference X high flyers Bo’ness Athletic in the last eight of the King Cup. On Saturday they have a Conference A match against an improved Dalkeith Thistle side at Kings Park. The following Wednesday, 13th April, the Hi Hi’s will be back at Millfield to face either Kinnoull or Bo’ness Athletic in the quarter final of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, This busy spell is rounded off at Newbyres Park, Gorebridge on Saturday 16th April, when Haddington meet another improving side in Arniston Rangers. Conference A rivals Leith Athletic will be looking for the Hi Hi’s to drop points in either of these difficult away fixtures. Manager Scott Bonar’s squad is being fully tested at the moment with four key players out injured and he will be hoping to avoid any further knocks as the team enter a key phase of the season.
