Haddington revert back to league football on Saturday when they travel to Clackmannanshire to meet Sauchie Juniors at Beechwood Park. Sauchie have, perhaps, under achieved this season as they started the season as favourites to win the Premier Division title after running Linlithgow Rose close last year. However an indifferent start to their league campaign more or less put paid to their title hopes and they face another season in tier 6. When the sides met at Millfield in October, Sauchie won by three goals to two after trailing at the interval.
The Hi Hi’s can expect a difficult ninety minutes tomorrow and manager Scott Bonar may make a couple of changes to the side that beat Dunbar in midweek. He will again be without Gabri Auriemma and he will wait on fitness reports on both Gary Windram and Joe Tait, who had to replaced in the Dunbar match. On a positive note, skipper Nick Aitchison is fit again after dislocating his knee at the start of March and he has gained match fitness by playing a few games for the Hi Hi’s under 20s side. When the sides met at Sauchie last season a late goal from Corey Robertson gave the Millfield men a share of the points – they wouldn’t be that unhappy with a similar result on Saturday.
