Millfield hosts its third South Challenge Cup tie of the season tomorrow when Lowland League side, Spartans, provide the opposition. The Hi Hi’s beat Dunbar United and Leith Athletic in the previous two rounds, but they face a real step up in quality when they meet the high flying Edinburgh side. Spartans are on a good run at the moment and last week they beat Celtic B in a midweek league game at Ainslie Park before winning 2 – 1 at Innerleithen against an improving Vale of Leithen side. These wins move them up to second place in the Lowland League behind leaders Bonnyrigg Rose. Haddington are no strangers to tier 5 opposition this season having played Highland League sides Deveronvale and Brechin City in the Scottish Cup. Once again a big home support is expected at Millfield and they will be right behind the Hi Hi’s as they attempt to create a cup upset.
