The Hi Hi’s hit no fewer than sixteen goals in two away matches last week. First up was a midweek Conference A game against Craigroyston at St Marks Park in Edinburgh. Despite falling behind to a first minute goal, Haddington hit eight in reply to secure three points.

Last Saturday, Arniston Rangers provided the opposition in a Football Nation Cup tie at Newbyres Park. Once again the Hi Hi’s dominated proceedings and two Ross King strikes set them on their way. It was 4 – 0 at the interval and the highlight of the second half was a hat trick from young Jordan Keenan who had replaced Gordon Harris at half time.

So two 8 – 1 victories in the space of four days when the previous 80 years had only produced five similar scorelines. Manager Joe Hamill and his players can expect a tougher time in Fife on Saturday when they meet St Andrews United in a Conference A match.
