Everyone at the club was disappointed, but not surprised, when local Grade One referee Iain Snedden ruled Millfield unplayable last Saturday morning. Haddington’s local derby against Musselburgh Athletic was set to become a memorable occasion for a number of reasons. Former President, Secretary and long serving committee member, Jim Thomson, was to be remembered with a minutes applause and several pipers from Haddington Pipe Band were to play in his memory. It was also to be the first time that the new Donaldson Family Stand would be in use for a competitive game and a crowd of around 500 was expected to see if the Hi hi’s could topple the league leaders.

The Hi Hi’s will try again this week when Penicuik Athletic are due to visit in a Premier Division match. However there has been no let up in the weather with low temperatures causing concern. Once again a pitch inspection has been arranged and we’ll keep everyone fully informed.
