The arrival of Storm Bert after several days of low temperatures, meant that the Saturday morning inspection at Millfield was really a formality, and, not surprisingly, local grade one referee Iain Snedden declared the pitch unplayable. So the East of Scotland Premier League match between Haddington and Dundonald Bluebell has been rescheduled for this Saturday. The current forecast is favourable and the match is expected to go ahead.
Haddington manager Scott Bonar will still be without several players as Craig Reid, Ali Simpson, Tom Davies and Mark McGovern are all at various stages with their recovery from injury. His revamped squad did well to beat Edinburgh University last time out and he will probably bring some of the Under 20 players into the first team squad. The points were shared in two 2-2 draws last season and it could be close again on Saturday.
