The Hi Hi’s continue their preparations for the coming season when they face two Lowland League clubs in their next two games. First up is a trip south of the border on Saturday when they meet Berwick Rangers at Shielfield Park. These clubs met at the same venue a year ago with Berwick edging an entertaining match by two goals to one – Gary Windram netting for Haddington on his debut. Manager Scott Bonar missed last weeks match as he was on holiday, but will be back in charge on Saturday to cast an eye over his players, new and old. Then the following Thursday, 18th July, Haddington entertain Civil Service Strollers at Millfield, kick off 7.30pm. These sides met twice in quick succession in cup competitions at the start of last season with the Millfield side winning both matches by two goals to one and causing some early cup upsets. Although this meeting is only a friendly, no doubt the Strollers will be looking for some revenge.
Haddington complete their pre season preparations with another difficult friendly fixture. On Saturday 20th July, they travel to Glasgow to meet West of Scotland Premier League side, Pollok, at Newlandsfield. Pollok recently won at Tranent and will be tough opponents.
