For the second successive season Haddington completed their league fixtures at Moorside Park against Dundonald Bluebell. While last season the Hi Hi’s matched the host’s two goals in a 2-2 draw to finish above them, the Bluebell turned the tables this season with a 2-0 win that saw them finish above the visitors in fourth place. The home side edged the first half in terms of chances but there were no goals at the break. Dundonald broke the deadlock in the opening minutes of the second half when some slack defending allowed a cross to be played in and Craig Reid inadvertently diverted it into the net. Haddington tried hard to hit back but the nearest they came was when Luke Kennedy rattled the crossbar from just outside the box. The home goalkeeper also made an important save from Craig Reid. It was all in vain as another scrappy goal for the home side five minutes from the end, ensured that the points stayed in Fife.

So it’s still a third consecutive top half finish for the Hi Hi’s in an extremely competitive league which promises to be even tougher next season. However Haddington manager Scott Bonar is determined to build a squad that will challenging for the title and he is on track to bolster his squad for the challenges ahead.
