Squad update # 1

Our top goalscorer Grant Rose was due to end his loan spell from Berwick Rangers tomorrow, but personnel issues at Shielfield saw the arrangement end slightly prematurely in order for Grant to take a place on the substitutes’ bench for Berwick’s important League Two match at Cowdenbeath yesterday. It had been hoped Grant’s stay at Millfield might have been extended, but it remains to be seen how things might now develop – either way we’re grateful to Berwick for agreeing to the original loan deal, beneficial as it’s been for all parties.

18 year old Grant, from Jedburgh, made his Hi Hi’s debut in our South Region Challenge Cup tie at Tranent on 15 September which we lost by four goals to two. His first goal came a week later, a late Millfield winner against Edinburgh United in the Alex Jack Cup, and he leaves us with a goal a game record, thirteen of each under his belt. Over half his goal haul came against Tynecastle – he hit four in the 9-1 win at Meggetland on 10 November then claimed another hat-trick when we beat them 7-0 at Millfield a fortnight later.

All the best Grant, from all at the Hi Hi.
