Haddington failed to impress in their first competitive outing of the season at Millfield last Saturday. Visitors Dalkeith Thistle, ably led by player manager Darren Smith and Paul Tansey, won this section decider by three goals to one, leaving home manager Joe Hamill and his staff with plenty to ponder. Two down at the break, Scott Moffat gave the home side hope with a neat finish in the 55th minute, but it proved to be a false dawn. Apart from a good effort from substitute Paul Devlin, the home side rarely threatended and a late individual effort from Paul Tansey wrapped up the win.
