Despite the incentive of two further home ties, the HiHi’s exited the Fife and Lothians Cup after losing on penalties to Edinburgh United at Paties Road. A forgettable first 45 minutes produced no goals, but when Scott Moffat broke the deadlock midway through the second half it looked as though Haddington would prevail. Edinburgh never stopped fighting and they were rewarded with a 78th minute equaliser. The match went to penalties and when Quinn and Jones missed the first two spot kicks, Haddington’s fate was sealed.
